Daejeon-based Dasung Technology has secured a favorable determination that Junggwang Plant infringed its patent covering a railway vehicle inspection workbench.
On Nov. 24, 2025, the Korea Intellectual Property Trial and Appeal Board (KIPTAB) found that Junggwang Plant's equipment falls within the scope of Claim 1 of Korean Patent No. 2262182, titled "An Inspection Workbench for Railway Vehicle." Dasung filed the patent in March 2021, and it was registered in June 2021.
The ruling stems from a proactive scope confirmation action Dasung initiated in March 2025, asserting that Junggwang Plant's product practices the elements of Claim 1. The tribunal agreed.
Junggwang Plant may appeal the decision by filing an action with the Patent Court.
The patented invention covers a railway maintenance safety platform equipped with an automatic gap-filler. The movable plate descends as a vehicle enters and adjusts its angle upon contact, closing the gap between the train and the platform to ensure safe access for maintenance personnel.
