Giseung FA has successfully invalidated Shinwha Precision's Korean patent titled Clamp Type Can Stacker (Registration No. KR1312934), following a decision issued by the Korean Intellectual Property Trial and Appeal Board (KIPTAB) on July 17, 2025.

The challenged patent covers an automated stacking and transport system for cylindrical cans or similar containers. The invention is applicable across a wide range of industries, including food and beverage, aerosol, and chemical product manufacturing.

If Shinwha Precision wishes to contest the KIPTAB ruling, it may file a cancellation suit with the Korean Patent Court.

This is the second time the patent has been subject to an invalidation attempt. CAS previously filed an invalidation trial against the same patent, which was dismissed by KIPTAB in June 2020. CAS appealed the decision to the Korean Patent Court, which upheld the dismissal in September 2021.
