The Institute of Science Tokyo (Science Tokyo), formed through the merger of Tokyo Medical and Dental University and Tokyo Institute of Technology, acquired 19 U.S. patents from Ricoh Company, Ltd. in December 2024.

These patents cover various technological fields, including Biological Information and Biomagnetism Measurement, Biometric Information and Display Systems, Nerve Stimulation and Neural Pathway Analysis, Diagnostic Support Systems, Imaging and Processing Systems, and Optical and Discharge Measurement. Notably, patents related to Biological Information and Biomagnetism Measurement represent the largest share.

Science Tokyo officially commenced operations on October 1, 2024, led by Naoto Ohtake as its inaugural president and CEO.
