Broadening Its Portfolio in 3D Chip Technologies

Shanghai-based JointMicro Technology Inc., a Chinese 3D image sensing chip development company, has acquired eight U.S. patents from Singapore's Tritium Electronics Pte. Ltd. in November 2024.
The newly acquired patents encompass advanced electrical systems, emphasizing precision, efficiency, and safety across various applications.
This deal follows JointMicro's acquisition of six U.S. patents from Putian JointMicro Technology Inc. in December 2023. Those patents were originally purchased by Putian JointMicro from Beyond Time Investments Limited in July 2020.
JointMicro describes itself on LinkedIn as "a global leader in the development of 3D image sensing chips," and highlights its elite core team composed of experts from prestigious universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The team averages over 10 years of experience in the mass production of complex chips. The company also positions itself as "a rapidly growing IC design company specializing in mixed-signal technology.
