Amotech and Hyundai Transys have jointly filed three patent applications in South Korea, marking the first time the two companies have co-applied for patents together.

The jointly filed applications are KR10-2025-0052340, KR10-2025-0054742 and KR10-2025-0061199, each titled "Plunger Driving Apparatus and Air Pump for Ergo Motion Seat Using the Same." The applications were filed between April and May 2025 and are scheduled for publication in November 2025.

All three patents relate to air pump technology in which a solenoid-driven plunger performs linear reciprocating motion to drive a single pumping piston. The inventions commonly adopt an electromagnetic drive structure that combines a permanent magnet mover with solenoid coils, aiming to simplify mechanical configuration while improving driving efficiency.

The applications also emphasize reducing the number of components and simplifying airflow paths to enhance assembly efficiency, manufacturing productivity and air pumping performance measured in liters per minute. The disclosed technologies are intended for use in ergo motion seat air pumps, enabling precise and stable control of air inflation and deflation within automotive seating systems.
