Chinese manufacturer Hangzhou Yuzhong Gaohong Lighting Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. (Woojong) has secured a finding that it does not infringe a Korean LED factory lamp patent owned by Sinseung Litech, a lighting company based in Gimpo, South Korea.

The patent at issue, KR2382299 ("LED Factory Lamp With Skirt in Integral Type"), covers an industrial LED floodlight structure in which the skirt (lamp shade), heat-dissipation fins and the main body are formed as a single die-cast unit.

The invention aims to improve thermal performance, reduce manufacturing costs and provide a waterproof structure by producing the entire assembly — including the shade, fins and housing — through a one-piece die-casting process.

Woojong filed a scope confirmation action in April 2025, asserting that its product does not fall within claim 1 of the '299 patent. Such actions allow a party to seek a prompt determination from the Korea Intellectual Property Trial and Appeal Board (KIPTAB) that a competitor's patent does not cover its product. While KIPTAB's decisions are not binding on the courts, they are often used to obtain an early, practical assessment of infringement risk.

On Nov. 27, 2025, KIPTAB sided with Woojong and granted its petition. If Sinseung Litech disputes the outcome, it may challenge the decision by filing an appeal with the Korean Patent Court.
