Sinotechnix used U.S. patents acquired from Seoul Semiconductor and Seoul Viosys in a patent lawsuit against Samsung Electronics and Samsung Display, filed on July 17, 2024, in the Eastern District of Texas.
The six patents in question were part of a May 2022 acquisition, where Sinotechnix purchased eight patents from Seoul Semiconductor on May 23, and nine from Seoul Viosys on May 24.
The lawsuit involves five of the patents acquired from Seoul Semiconductor and one from Seoul Viosys.
Sinotechnix claims that Samsung’s TVs and monitors infringe on its patents related to optical lenses, LEDs, and backlight panels. The Samsung products mentioned in the complaint include models such as QN65Q80CAF, UN58CU7000F, and UN75TU690TF.
